More Thinking Locally

The rundown of Voting "Irregularities" from Voter's Unite's website for North Carolina, thus far, as posted by pointsoflight in an extremely interesting discussion on DailyKos:

--ES&S machines in Guilford County shorted Kerry about 22K votes

--4500 votes were permanently lost in Carteret County and a re-vote may be needed for some local races

--Double counting of votes in Craven County, which changed the outcome of a race when corrected

--One terminal in Craven County did not require a password and the count of the presidential vote was incorrect on that terminal

--In Mecklenberg County, machines tallied more votes than there were voters

--Double counting of votes in Yadkin County

--A software error in Onslow County inaccurately compiled voting data, changing the order of finish for a local race

--12,000 early and absentee votes weren't included in Gaston County's initial count, and the additional of these votes could change the outcome of state and local races

--In Craven County, voter's choices registered incorrectly on the touch screens, picking a different candidate than that selected

--When testing an e-voting machine, the precinct chair of Forsyth County noted that his vote was tallied incorrectly

While I'm not quite ready to take to the streets yelling "Voter Fraud" I am mighty interested in the fact that all of the voter "irregularities" were in Dubbya's favor. If there was truly just a software malfunction, the errors should have been random -- some for Dubbya, some for Kerry.

I'm just sayin'.
